The Cribs have hinted that they may take an extended break from music following the release of their singles compilation next year.

The band, who will celebrate their tenth anniversary with the release of 'Payola' in February, say they "haven't made a solid decision on what our future is right now" with Ryan Jarman wanting to spend time focusing on the new band he recently formed with former Here We Go Magic member Jen Turner.

"There's some exciting stuff going on there; the wheels are in motion," Jarman told NME about his new venture. "The album's pretty much recorded and we'll launch it after 'Payola'. I feel I've got a new lease of life since I moved to New York, and it's because I'm inspired by the people I've met there." Speaking about the future of The Cribs, he said: "What I'm hoping is we'll do some special shows next year and decide the future after that."

Brother Gary Jarman denied the band would split but echoed Ryan's sentiments that there may not be any Cribs activity for some time. "Are we splitting up? I wouldn't say that right now. It's just like, five records, ten years – it makes you contemplate what your position is and what the future holds. It's the end of the first era. We haven't made a solid decision on what our future is right now. We're all still writing [songs] but it could be for anything. "

'Payola' will mark ten years as a band for the Wakefield trio but is not a straightforward hits album. Some of the band's biggest songs are left out in favour of fan favourites and album tracks. A full tracklisting can be seen below alongside the bonus 18 track B-sides and rarities disc which will be included with deluxe editions of 'Payola'. The album will also include new song 'Leather Jacket Love Song' as its final track.
