The Cribs will premiere 'lost' song '' on Steve Lamacq's BBC 6Music radio show this afternoon (January 3).

The track, which will feature at some point during Steve Lamacq's 4pm-7pm time slot, is the one and only new song taken from the Wakefield band's forthcoming singles collection 'Payola'. The band teased fans online by tweeting: "The Cribs New Years Resolution for 2013 - to debut a brand new track on the first Thursday of the year" before revealing the full details of the premiere.

Speaking to NME about the track, Ryan Jarman said: "I do love leather jackets, but this is not specifically a love song to a leather jacket. It's just a typical love song, like a lot of our songs. We wrote it after we finished 'Ignore The Ignorant', so it's the last song with Johnny on it. It never got released, despite the fact that everyone loved it, because we made a fresh start with [2012 album] '...Brazen Bull'. It's a three-minute punk rock song, typically Cribs-y."

Jarman added: "We played it live a few times and it became a fan favourite song. It's become one of those songs that fans always ask me about. I started to think we should just sit on it and never release it, because I love the songs more when they're not released and they're still mine. When they're released, other people take ownership of them, which is cool but in a different way. There has to be something new on there."

'Payola' will be released via Wichita Recordings on February 25. Check out the full tracklisting below:
