The Cribs have begun to tease the video for their new single 'Leather Jacket Love Song'.

The video will have a home movie feel with the group posting in Twitter to state that the video has been "17 years in the making". A new website has been set up to tease the video, with today (January 17) being day one. Fans logging on to the site are met with an old VHS graphic which leads to footage of drummer Ross Jarman as a child playing with a drumkit.

'Leather Jacket Love Song' is the one and only new song on the Wakefield band's forthcoming singles collection 'Payola'. Speaking to NME about the track, Ryan Jarman said: "I do love leather jackets, but this is not specifically a love song to a leather jacket. It's just a typical love song, like a lot of our songs. We wrote it after we finished 'Ignore The Ignorant', so it's the last song with Johnny on it. It never got released, despite the fact that everyone loved it, because we made a fresh start with [2012 album] '...Brazen Bull'. It's a three-minute punk rock song, typically Cribs-y."

Jarman added: "We played it live a few times and it became a fan favourite song. It's become one of those songs that fans always ask me about. I started to think we should just sit on it and never release it, because I love the songs more when they're not released and they're still mine. When they're released, other people take ownership of them, which is cool but in a different way. There has to be something new on there."

'Payola' will be released via Wichita Recordings on February 25. Check out the full tracklisting below:
