DARKNESS SLATE THEIR OWN SONGS The Darkness Tickets

DARKNESS SLATE THEIR OWN SONGS

The Darkness have admitted that some of their new material played during the CARLING WEEKEND READING AND LEEDS festivals was "appalling".

Reaction to the glam rockers’ new songs was muted, and now singer Justin Hawkins has told the BBC that he was as disappointed as anybody.

He said: “They were appalling really. I mean we haven’t had chance to rehearse them. I’m the first to admit they were turgid rubbish, but the rest of the show went well.

“I sang really well last night and we all came off thinking ‘Oh that was a bit… was a bit so-so’, but we watched the video back and our show, the actual production of it, the lightshow and the pyros and the fireworks were second to none I think.”

However, Justin promised that the band’s forthcoming arena tour would be spectacular.

He continued: “The arena tour will have a longer set, more spectacular scenery, shall we say, and a bag full of surprises just for you. This includes inflatables, very large ones we can’t use (at the festivals) because of the weather,”

The dates are:

Nottingham Arena (November 24)

Glasgow SECC Arena (26)

Newcastle Metro Radio Arena (29)

Manchester MEN Arena (December 1)

Sheffield Hallam Arena (4)

Cardiff Arena (6)

Birmingham NEC Arena (7)

London Wembley Arena (10)
