Jack White's band The Dead Weather are halfway through recording their second album.
Frontwoman Alison Mosshart, who is also the singer in The Kills, said the follow-up to recently-released debut 'Horehound' could be completed before the year is out.
"In between now and Christmas I'm going to go back to [White's studio in] Nashville at some point. I think I'll spend most of December in America and finish the second record. So there will be more," she told Radio 1's Newsbeat.
"They [the songs] sound great. I really like them," she added. "We've been playing three or four of them onstage, so they keep changing all the time."
With the band set to kick off their UK tour on October 19, the singer added she had been stunned by how much The Dead Weather have achieved in 2009.
"The last year has been incredible," she said. "I never knew it was going to go like this. We never planned to be a band. Certainly I didn't think we'd be so busy and that things would go so well."
