The Dears bring new lineup to LA

Canadian rockers deliver rousing set

The Dears bring new lineup to LA
The Dears brought their new lineup to Los Angeles for the first time last night (October 30), performing for a packed house at the Key Club on the Sunset Strip.

The Canadian band, led by Murray Lightburn, focused on material from their recent album 'Missiles' with their new, seven-person lineup.

Lightburn said very little throughout their hour-long set opening for The Secret Machines, but emotively belted out the new tunes, switching from electric to acoustic guitar and even a key-tar.

The band kicked off with new album opener 'Disclaimer' and segued into 'Money Babies'. Old favourites 'Lost In The Plot' and '22: The Death Of The Romance' elicited huge cheers from the crowd, as did keyboardist Natalia Yanchak's vocal solos.

"Los Angeles, thank you so so so so much," Lightburn said before saying good night. He gave audience members high-fives as he left the stage.

The Dears played:

'Disclaimer'
'Money Babies'
'Berlin Heart'
'Crisis 1 & 2'
'Lost In The Plot'
'Lights Off'
'Demons'
'Whites Only Party'
'Bandwagoneers'
'22: The Death Of The Romance'
'Meltdown In A Major'
