Thieves steal The Dears' tour bus

The band suffer a setback on the eve of North American tour

The Dears' tour bus was stolen last night (April 29) in Montreal on the eve of the band's six-week North American tour.

The bus driver was reportedly asleep inside the Comfort Inn Hotel in St Jean, Pointe-Claire when thieves stole the vehicle out of the hotel parking lot.

No gear or luggage was on board when the bus was stolen, according to a band statement They have asked that anyone with information about the vehicle's whereabouts contact their local authorities. The bus details are: Prevost model, Series 60. Accuride Alcoa; license plate: V957YW.

Meanwhile, the band intend to kick off their tour tonight in Toronto as originally planned and continue with the rest of the tour as scheduled.
