SECRET OF GREAT COMEDY

[a]Divine Comedy[/a] release 'Best of...' album that isn't really a 'Best of...' album...

THE DIVINE COMEDY will release two new songs on compilation LP 'A Secret History - The Best Of The Divine Comedy', due for release in late summer on Setanta.

The new tracks will be 'Gin Soaked Boy' and another as-yet-untitled song.

Tracks from the band's previous albums, 'Liberation', 'Promenade', 'Casanova', 'A Short Album About Love' and 'Fin De Siecle', will make up the rest of the record.

Frontman Neil Hannon said: "This is not a 'Best Of' in the usual sense, mostly due to the fact that The Divine Comedy released no singles prior to 'Casanova'. As well as songs that could have been singles from 'Liberation' and 'Promenade', we have also included songs of note from the later catalogue."

The Divine Comedy play Reading and Leeds 99 this year.
