THE DIVINE COMEDY are to split, NME.COM can exclusively reveal.
The group, who are due to start a European tour in Glasgow this evening (October 23), will continue their dates as planned, but following these live shows will disband.
Sources close to the group have said that singer Neil Hannon will remain with the group's current label Parlophone, but it is currently unclear what will happen to the other members of the group.
A spokesperson for The Divine Comedy told NME.COM: "The band are splitting but in essence The Divine Comedy has always been Neil Hannon. He is the only member signed to Parlophone. Neil continues to be signed to Parlophone and is working on a new record for release next year. The band have been working for six years with this line-up so it's very sad."

The group are set to release a new single from their Nigel Godrich produced album 'Regeneration', 'Perfect Lovesong', on October 29.
