Jim Morrison's last notebook up for sale
It goes under the hammer later this month
The last handwritten notebook from The Doors frontman Jim Morrison will go under the hammer later this month.
The book - containing the star’s final thoughts – will be up for sale at Cooper Owen’s Music Legends sale at Abbey Road Studios on July 28 from 5pm.
Morrison died in Paris of a suspected heart attack on July 3, 1971. The book contains 20 pages of his last handwritten musings, stanzas, poems and lyrics, and will be accompanied by one of the final photographs ever taken of him.
The book, estimated to be worth between £80,000 and £100,000, contains variants on older poems, such as ‘The Ancient Ones’, ‘Winter Photography’ and ‘The Hitchhiker’, as well as unseen poems and jottings.
