Editors and Mystery Jets to appear at showcase

Editors and Mystery Jets are among British artists showing off their talents at the prestigious Eurosonic showcase this weekend.

The first major European new music event of the year takes place from Thursday 12 to Saturday 14 January inclusive in the town of Groningen in Holland.

The weekend takes a similar format to the legendary South by Southwest event in Austin, Texas, and sees venues across the town taken over by bands across Europe to showcase their talents to festival bookers, record companies and hardcore fans, eager to be the first to find new talent.

Over 200 specially selected bands from throughout Europe will be showcasing their talents. Other British artists taking place include Brakes, Clor, Infadels, King Creosote and The Research.

Franz Ferdinand are among the bands who got a crucial early break into the European live circuit through Eurosonic.
