The Enemy to play intimate charity gig

The Enemy

Plus Rumble Strips and Martina Topley-Bird on the bill

The Enemy will play an intimate gig at the London Bloomsbury Ballroom on April 30.

The Rumble Strips, Martina Topley-Bird and The Thirst are also on the bill for the event, which aims to raise awareness for a new youth action scheme called Vinvolved, which aims to get more people into volunteering in their local communities. Bloc Party will DJ.

The Enemy recently got involved in the scheme hands on, undertaking tree-planting tasks for a volunteer job swap (pictured).

Tickets for the one-off gig will be available to people who sign up to Vinvolved. Those who do can be entered into a ballot to win gig tickets.

The Enemy's Tom Clarke explained: "Doing the job swap opened our eyes to the difference volunteers can make. We helped bring green trees to grey spaces.

"It felt good to make a difference to the people living there. Volunteering at festivals is great but there are so many other projects people should know about so we were really pleased to be asked to headline the Vinvolved gig to raise awareness of the opportunities that are out there."

People can sign up and be in with a chance to go to the show at the Vinvolved.com website tomorrow (April 2).

This is a great idea, and probably needed a good imagination to think up! It is not going to boost record sales though. Your music is something this country could really do without. Pls ask your a&r man to stop wasting the marketing budget. Back to the recording studio pls. You all need to learn something about music.
