The Enemy to launch Shockwaves NME Awards voting tonight (Nov 26)

Poll will kick off with exclusive pub gig

Voting for the 2009 Shockwaves NME Awards is set to open today (November 26).

Voting for the long list will begin with The Enemy playing a special launch party at the Prince pub in Brixton, south London this evening.

The rare, intimate show is taking place just yards from Brixton Academy, where the awards ceremony itself will take place on February 26.

Meanwhile you can take part in the awards yourself. Tickets are on sale now for the Shockwaves NME Awards Tour with Glasvegas, White Lies, Friendly Fires and Florence And The Machine and for the Shockwaves NME Awards Big Gig at the O2 Arena in London which will be headlined by the 2009 Godlike Geniuses, The Cure.

You can also get tickets for the series of Shockwaves NME Awards shows taking place in the run-up to the event, featuring the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Tricky and The Wombats.
