‘Widow City’ is out in October

The Fiery Furnaces have announced their new album will be called 'Widow City'.

The album, out on October 9, was recorded by sibling-duo Matthew and Eleanor Friedberger near Lake Michigan last winter.

The Brooklyn-based band ventured into new territory on the record, with their first time use of the Chamberlain, a keyboard that triggers tapes loops of other instruments to create its library of sounds.

As with their previous albums, Matthew plays everything on this record, except the drums, which were played by Robert D’Amico, who as been a touring member of the band for two years.

The tracklisting is:

'The Philadelphia Grand Jury'
'Duplexes of the Dead'
'Automatic Husband'
'Ex-Guru'
'Clear Signal from Cairo'
'My Egyptian Grammar'
'The Old Hag is Sleeping'
'Japanese Slippers'
'Navy Nurse'
'Uncle Charlie'
'Right By Conquest'
'Restorative Beer'
'Wicker What-Nots'
