The Futureheads leave record label

The Futureheads have left their record label - but they say they're “over the moon” about it.

Frontman Barry Hyde has revealed that the group and the Warners-owned label 679 Recordings havfe parted company after two albums – 2004’s self-titled debut and this year’s ‘News And Tributes’.

Hyde told BBC 6 Music: "I'm over the moon about it to be honest with you, 'cos I feel like we're free now. We weren't happy as a band on that label."

He continued: "It's good to get out of the shackles of being tied down to something. I think it's put us in a very strong position 'cos we're still a band that people like."

The label refused to comment when contacted by NME.COM today (November 20).

The band head out on a UK tour later this week, calling at:
