G-Unit rapper Yayo is set to appeal for an assault charge against him to be dropped after an acquaintance said he was the one who committed the crime.
The rapper is accused of slapping a 14 year-old boy, who is the son of Jimmy 'Henchman' Rosemond, co-founder of Czar Entertainment and manager of rival rapper The Game.
Yayo pled not guilty to the assault, and his laywer is seeking to have the charge dropped after Lowell Fletcher told police he slapped the boy.
The incident occurred in Manhattan in March 2007 when Fletcher says he saw the boy wearing a Czar Entertainment T-shirt and hit him in the face. He says Yayo pulled him away from the boy.
Fletcher is already serving a 2.5 year sentence for drug possession.
