The Gaslight Anthem played a special acoustic show in the NME office for a select group of fans yesterday (May 2) – see above for exclusive live and interview footage with the band.
Brian Fallon and co played their new single '45' and fan favourite '1930' during the show, which came ahead of their full UK live comeback next month. "I look forward to watching this later on YouTube," Fallon joked with the crowd afterwards.
Speaking to NME about '45' after the gig, Fallon said:
It sounded familiar but it sounded fresh to us. It was what we were looking for excitement-wise – and the song came out really quick. Once we had the chorus, that was it.
The track is the first single from the band's new album 'Handwritten', out July 23.The album, which was produced by Brendan O'Brien, is the follow-up to 2010's 'American Slang'.
The Gaslight Anthem will play a one-off UK headline show this summer. The New Jersey band will appear at London's KOKO venue on June 11 and will also play at Reading and Leeds Festivals. In addition, The Gaslight Anthem will open up for reunited grunge icons Soundgarden on some of their European summer tour dates.
