The Go! Team bring NME Freshers' Tour Supported By Lowlife to a frenzied close
London goes mad for the eclectic stars
The Go! Team brought the NME Freshers’ Tour Supported By Lowlife to a fitting close last night (October 9), as they played to a packed and enthusiastic crowd at the London Astoria.
The group were supported by hotly-tipped newcomers The Satin Peaches and Operator Please on the tour.
The Go! Team were in their usual hyperactive mood, with frontwoman Ninja careering round the stage dressed in a red vest top and stripy green shorts, while the instrument-swapping group mixed garage riffs with hip-hop beats and horns.
The crowd were wildly enthusiastic throughout the evening continually punching the air and shouting along, even with the sound system of the venue pushed to its maximum level and distorting some of the louder moments.
Highlights included ‘Do It Right’, ‘Bottle Rocket’ and ‘Ladyflash’.
The O2 NME Rock ‘N’ Roll Riot Tour 2007, featuring The Enemy, Lethal Bizzle and The Wombats, is still on the road, calling at Manchester Apollo tonight, before stopping off at Norwich UEA.
