The Good, The Bad & The Queen confirm Hammersmith farewell

Damon Albarn and co announce bill for Palais finale

The Good, The Band And The Queen have announced a series of guests for their Hammersmith Palais farewell show at the weekend (March 31).

The band will play the second last gig ever at the London venue, the home of the Shockwaves NME Awards for the last five years. The building is due for demolition and the space will be used for flats.

Joining Damon Albarn’s band at the special show will be openers The Tony Allen Orchestra, followed by a performance from John Cooper Clarke and a DJ set from The Clash collaborator Don Letts.

Following The Good, The Bad & The Queen’s headlining performance, the sold-out gig will be rounded off by a DJ set by Jose Carretas from Restless Soul Productions.

As previously reported, Albarn told NME.COM that his group had decided to play the show for bassist Paul Simonon, who through his days in The Clash “went back a long way with the venue”.

The last ever show at Hammersmith Palais will be performed by The Fall the next night (April 1).
