Beth Ditto: 'Supporting Scissor Sisters was soul-sucking'
The Gossip star puts the boot into the band's fans
singer Beth Ditto descibed supporting Scissor Sisters on tour as a "soul-sucking experience".
Despite admitting her admiration for the band, the star said touring with the US five-piece was no picnic.
She told Mixmag: "I love them (Scissor Sisters) and I think we've got a lot of common ground. But supporting their tour was a really soul-sucking experience. It wasn't gigs, it was 'concerts', you know like when you're nine and New Kids On The Block come to town and you camp outside the mall all day to get your ticket.
"The audience were moms wanting chart hits. They've never seen a John Waters movie or heard the Ramones."
