‘The Hangover 2’ on the way

Cast of summer's surprise hit sign up for sequel

The cast of 2009 hit comedy The Hangover have signed up for a sequel

, Deadline reports.

Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis will all be paid in “the vicinity of $5m” (£3.3m) to reprise their roles, dwarfing their original deals, which were reportedly in the region of $1m.

It had previously been reported that the three stars were hesitant to to make a follow-up.

The original saw three friends wake up in a Las Vegas hotel room following a bachelor party, only to find it now contained a tiger, a baby, one of them had got married, one had been to hospital, and they were missing the groom.

Director Todd Phillips has previously signalled a sequel was on the cards, suggesting production was to begin in November.
