The Hives have announced that they will release their first album in over five years in June.

The Swedish band, who last released an album in 2007 with 'Black And White Hives', will release their fifth album 'Lex Hives' on June 5.

The album will be preceded by a single 'Go Right Ahead', which you can hear by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.

The band have been working on the album since 2008 and have toured sporadically throughout the recording process. They were most recently in the UK last summer to play London's Wireless Festival.

The Hives are expected to announce fresh live dates in support of 'Lex Hives' in the coming weeks.

You can watch a video from the NME Archive which features The Hives discussing their last album 'Black And White Hives' by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.
