The Hold Steady have announced plans for a UK tour, set for May of this year.

The dates follow the release of the band's new album 'Teeth Dreams', which will come out on March 25. The band play five dates, many at urban festivals, starting at Liverpool Sound City with a set at Kazimier on May 2, following it with shows in Leeds, London, Manchester and Brighton.

The band recently unveiled 'I Hope This Whole Thing Didn't Frighten You', the first song to be taken from their latest album. Scroll down to listen to the song, from the follow-up to 2010's 'Heaven Is Whenever'.

Speaking about the LP with Rolling Stone, frontman Craig Finn commented: "We were looking to make a big rock record. Maybe it's less wild but in some ways that makes it a bigger record." The band released their last LP in 2010. Of the gap between albums, Finn says the band "may have dragged out a bit this time. But I think it's all for the best."

The Hold Steady play:

Liverpool Sound City Kazimier (May 2)
Leeds Live In Leeds (3)
London Bush Hall (5)
Manchester Academy 3 (7)
Brighton Great Escape Concorde 2 (9)
