The Hold Steady and Art Brut rock Philadelphia

The band’s US NME Rock 'N' Roll Riot Tour 2007 gets fully underway

The Hold Steady and Art Brut provoked a feverish crowd reaction when they performed in Philadelphia as part of the US NME Rock ‘N’ Roll Riot Tour 2007.

The gig last night (October 23) had been downgraded from the 2,000-capacity Electric Factory to the more club-size Fillmore and, as such, the venue was packed.

Support act Demander worked the crowd, before Art Brut took to the stage to play a set taken mainly from their debut album ‘Bang Bang Rock And Roll’.

During ‘Moving To LA’, Eddie Argos changed the lyrics to refer to the recent Californian fires and also ended the group’s set by tearing topless through the audience.

The Hold Steady got the biggest reaction of the night and performed a set drawn primarily from their last album ‘Boys And Girls In America’ to the packed club.
