Art Brut team up with the Hold Steady in New York
NME Rock N Roll Riot Tour winds up at Terminal 5
Argos, who admitted to NME.COM after the show that she was “shitting it” before the guest slot, sang along to The Hold Steady’s ‘Killer Parties’, in front of a 3,000-strong crowd.
The Hold Steady have been road-testing new material on the jaunt, last night previewing ‘Stay Positive’ and ‘Ask Her For Adderall’, which are slated to be included on the follow-up to ‘Boys And Girls In America’.
The all-ages audience ate up every minute of the hometown show, particularly performances of ‘Chips Ahoy’, ‘Southtown Girls’ and ‘Massive Nights’.
Meanwhile, Art Brut concentrated in newer material such as ‘Pump Up The Volume’, ‘Direct Hit’ and ‘St Pauli’ from this year’s ‘It’s A Bit Complicated’.
1990s opened the show after joining the tour eight days ago, bring their two-month stint in the US to a close.
