The Horrors wowed a sold-out crowd at Los Angeles' El Rey Theatre last night (June 18).

Kicking off their 50-minute set with a rousing rendition of Joy Division's 'No Love Lost', the band worked up the crowd from the opening strains of their first song.

Throughout the show, audience members crowd-surfed and jumped on-stage, but were quickly ejected by club security.

"Is this what you call a disco?" frontman Faris Badwan asked the crowd, looking up at the chandeliers that decorate the old theatre.

Badwan jumped around the stage, climbed the scaffolding and brought a chair from the audience onto the stage for no apparent reason before the night was through. All the while cameras rolled, recording footage for the band's forthcoming documentary.

The band played several tracks from their recent album, 'Strange House', and ended the night by singing a dark version of 'Happy Birthday' to a friend in the audience.
