The Horrors frontman Faris Badwan is set to open his new art exhibition, Creatures in Colour: Sketchbooks from Faris Badwan, in London this September.
The exhibition will run from September 18-30 at Proud's The Strand Gallery. It is a retrospective of Badwan's ink drawings alongside new watercolour and acrylic pieces, as well as unseen sketchbook pages and large scale reworkings of previous pieces. Badwan is a former St Martin's College of Art student.
Of the exhibition, Badwan says: "The Creatures in Colour will be compiled from sketchbooks I've been keeping over the past couple of years, I draw all the time and as a result the books end up documenting everything. Aside from the visual diary aspect Proud Gallery will be exhibiting new unseen paintings and drawings more focused around colour and technique. There were ideas in the last exhibition that I wanted to develop and expand upon, and a lot of the mark-making in the new work is more expressive and intense."
Proud's The Strand Gallery is at 32 John Adam Street, City of London, WC2N 6BP.
