The Horrors are set to release a box-set album of their remix album of 'Skying', titled 'Higher'.

The band had the idea to release a box set of the singles from their third studio album, released in 2011, while driving through the deserts of California and ended up getting a cast of their musical mates involved.

Speaking in this week’s NME, which is on newsstands from tomorrow (December 5) or available digitally, keyboard player Tom Cowan said: "We thought we’d get people involved to do remixed B-sides, but it kind of ballooned."

He added: "We've got mixes from Connan Mockasin and Andrew Weatherall, but also people like Chris Watson, who used to be in Cabaret Voltaire. His mix uses the sounds of ice breaking in the Arctic and other stuff he's recorded from his journeys around the world."

'Higher' now spans over four 12" vinyls, two CDs and a DVD and features a range of artists from Blanck Mass to Andy Blake, Cherrystones, Chris Watson, Seahawks and JTC. It will be available digitally on December 3 followed by a physical release in March 2013.
