The band's 18 singles are to be repackaged as two box-sets, one covering the peiod from 1977 to 1979, the other dealing with 1980 to 1982...

THE JAM's singles are to be released as a two-part box-set in April, through UNIVERSAL/POLYDOR.

The CDs will be enhanced with videos for several of their biggest hits, including 'Going Underground', 'That's Entertainment', 'The Bitterest Pill', 'Town Called Malice' and 'Funeral Pyre'.

Each box-set features nine CD singles, charting their five-year career from their 1977 debut single 'In The City', which reached Number 40, to 1982's 'Beat Surrender', which entered the charts at Number One.

Sleeve notes are written by author and journalist Paolo Hewitt and included in a 16-page booklet. The package also includes a limited-edition print of The Jam.

The first box-set, spanning 1977 to 1979, is released on April 2, with the second, covering the period from 1980 to 1982, following on April 30.
