They'll hit several European festivals this summer

The Jesus And Mary Chain have announced a string of festival date this summer.

In addition to playing a pre-Coachella date in Pomona, California on April 26 as well as the festival itself the following day, the newly reunited band will hit festivals in Portugal, Spain, Germany, Scotland and Ireland this summer.

After playing Spain's Summercase Festival in Madrid and Barcelona as previously announced, the band will hit several other festivals including Connect in Scotland and Ireland's Electric Picnic.

These gigs will be the band's first since they split up in 1998.

The dates are:

Pomona, CA Glass House (April 26)
Indio, CA Coachella Festival Empire Polo Field (27)
Lisbon, Portugal Super Bock Super Rock (July 4)
Madrid, Spain Summercase Festival (13)
Barcelona, Spain Summercase Festival (14)
Hildesheim, Germany M'era Luna Festival (August 12)
Argyll, Scotland Connect Festival Inveraray Castle (31)
County Laois, Ireland Electric Picnic Stradbally Estate (September 1)
