But did Scarlett Johansson make it to the Coachella warm up?

The Jesus And Mary Chain made their live return last night (April 27) a “secret” Coachella Festival warm-up show.

The band played the Glass House in Pomona, California.

It was the group's their first gig since 1998, and was organised so they could prepare for their festival return today (April 28).

According to Laist.COM, the group played a “slow but steady” set which saw frontman Jim Reid ask the crowd “Happy we’re back?”.

After the crowd cheered, he simply told them to “fuck off” and looked at his drummer.

Actress Scarlett Johansson had been rumoured to sing the female vocals on the band’s classic ’Just Like Honey’ at the gig, however on the night Giant Drag’s Annie Hardy filled in.

The band are now due to play Coachella itself, and NME.COM will be on site bringing you the best coverage from this year’s event.
