The Jesus And Mary Chain plan to hit the studio later this year to begin recording a new album, according to Coachella Festival rumours.
Overheard talking backstage at the festival last weekend, guitarist William Reid said that the band intend to head into the studio in October to begin recording their first album since 1998's 'Munki'.
NME.COM understands that the legendary rockers are aiming for a spring 2008 release date.
As previously reported, The Jesus And Mary Chain made their first live appearances since 1998 last week - first at a warm-up show in Pomona, California, and then at the Coachella Festival, where actress Scarlett Johansson shared vocal duties with frontman Jim Reid on the song 'Just Like Honey'.
'Just Like Honey' famously featured on the soundtrack for the 2003 movie 'Lost In Translation', which Johansson starred in.
