Jesus & Mary Chain play New York City

The Jesus And Mary Chain performed a sold-out show at New York’s Webster Hall last night (May 21).

Opening with ‘Never Understand’ the band played a set not dissimilar from their stellar performance at Coachella last month.

Last night’s performance was distinctly lower in volume than their comeback show in the desert, but despite this, the crowd ate up their greatest hits-style set including ‘Reverence’, ‘Blues From A Gun’ and ‘Head On’.

For ‘Just Like Honey’ the band were joined onstage by Nicole Gehweiler of The Comas, one of the bands opening at their second Webster Hall show tonight. Fellow New Yorkers A Place To Bury Strangers are also on the bill for tonight’s performance.

Last night’s setlist ran:

‘Never Understand’
‘Head On’
‘Far Gone and Out’
‘Sidewalking’
‘Snakedriver’
‘Happy When It Rains’
‘Some Candy Talking’
‘Between Planets’
‘Blues From A Gun’
‘Cracking Up’
‘All Things’
‘Teenage Lust’
‘Just Like Honey’
‘Reverence’
‘Vegetable Man’
