The Joy Formidable discuss 'Twilight: Breaking Dawn' soundtrack

The Joy Formidable discuss 'Twilight: Breaking Dawn' soundtrack
Ritzy Bryan from The Joy Formidable has spoken out about the inclusion of her band’s track ‘Endtapes’ on the forthcoming soundtrack to Twilight: Breaking Dawn.

The frontwoman revealed that she was wondering if their place on the popular soundtrack series will mean her male bandmates will suddenly get a new female following. She said:

They’ve always had great artists before and their soundtracks are always very, very strong. And they support new bands as well… In our flatmate's office, there are some people who are ridiculously excited [about the film]. A lot of them are middle-aged women, apparently. We’ll wait and see if the guys get a huge female admiring.

In the interview with Rolling Stone Bryan also spoke about the current process of writing the band’s second album. "We’ve written a lot. There are a lot of songs, a lot of threads of songs and we’re just enjoying the process of writing at the moment without trying to make too much sense of it," she said of the follow-up to ‘The Big Roar’, which is set for release in 2012.

“We’re very excited next year to have another album out,” said Bryan. “We’ve had a lot of different releases and they’ve come out at different times in different countries... so creatively, we’re looking forward to coming out with everything together. Kind of a clean slate, if you like."
