The band take studio break to play Miami bash
The Killers made a rare trip from the studio to a play an American festival yesterday (March 25).
The Las Vegas band are currently conducting sessions for their second album, but made the one-off appearance at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami.
Performing at the event which is part of America’s Winter Music Conference, The Killers took to the Bicentennial Park stage with frontman Brandon Flowers unexpectedly resembling Travis’ Fran Healy by sporting a cropped studio beard and blue army coat.
Playing mainly songs from debut ‘Hot Fuss’, Flowers introduced ‘Somebody Told Me’ as “a real firecracker”, before playing a selection from the album plus B-side ‘Under The Gun’.

Though the group didn’t play any of the songs they have been working on in their Las Vegas studio with producers Flood and Alan Moulder, Flowers tempered any disappointment telling the crowd: "One good thing about music, when it kills you, you feel no pain."
Though primarily led by dance acts, earlier the Ultra Music Festival witnessed a short set from Hard-Fi, while The Prodigy were also due to play.
The Killers now return to their studio, with their second album currently due for release this autumn.
