The Killers have gone straight to the top of the NME Chart tonight (September 3) with their comeback single ’When You Were Young’ topping

The Las Vegas band knocked Muse’s ‘Starlight’ from the Number One slot with the single taken from forthcoming album ’Sam’s Town’, out on October 2.

The other new entry in the chart comes from Dirty Pretty Things, who go in at Number Three with ’Wondering’.

This week’s NME Chart is:

1. The Killers - ‘When You Were Young’
2. Ok Go – ‘Here It Goes Again’
3. Dirty Pretty Things - ‘Wondering’
4. Muse – ‘Starlight’
5. The Automatic - ‘Recover’
6. The Fratellis - ‘Chelsea Dagger’
7. The Blood Arm -‘Suspicious Character’
8. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - ‘Cheated Hearts’
9. Jet - ‘Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is’
10. Be Your Own Pet - ‘Bicycle, Bicycle’

Will The Killers be able to hold onto the top spot when the Beck comes a'knocking next week with ’Cellphone’s Dead’ or will The Gossip's ’Standing In The Way Of Control’ prove a suprise hit?
