The Killers have cancelled a show at the Point Theatre in Dublin tonight (November 30), after Brandon Flowers was declared unfit to perform by his doctor.

Flowers has reportedly been struck down will severe flu, resulting in the loss of his voice and subsequent cancellation of the 6,000 capacity show.

The show was due to be the last on the band's European tour - their biggest headlining show so far - and will not be rescheduled due to their US tour commitments, which kick off on December 6. Refunds are available from the point of purchase.

Annoucing the cancellation, the band issued the following statement to NME.COM:

"We’ve had to make the terrible decision to cancel tonight’s show in Dublin since we’ve fallen foul to the dreaded ‘flu bug. Brandon has bronchitis and is unable to sing. We’re devastated to have to disappoint so many people, but it’s simply impossible for us to go ahead with the gig.

"We’ve had some of our favourite shows in Ireland, 2004’s Oxegen Festival was the best ever, and we were really excited to be finishing our European tour with tonight’s show at The Point. It was set to be the biggest show on the tour and we know the Dublin audience would have made it spectacular."

However The Kilers added they intend to make amends in the future.

"We’re so sorry, Dublin," they declared. "We’ll find a way to make it up to you, we promise!"

The band is due to return to Ireland in February on their arena tour.
