Killers' Brandon Flowers: 'V Festival was bittersweet' – video

The Killers' Brandon Flowers has explained that the band's headline performances at the V Festival last weekend (August 22-23) were "bittersweet" affairs.

The Las Vegas band headlined the Chelmsford leg of the bash on Saturday (August 22) then closed the festival in Stafford last night.

"I get a little bit sentimental, it's a bit sad in the end," Flowers told NME.COM when speaking about the shows in a backstage interview you can watch by clicking on the video on the right. "It's strange, this is an end of a small era for us [ending promotion for most recent album 'Day & Age'].

"We'll be four completely different people when we come back to play a whole new album. It's bittersweet. We had a lot of great gigs over here. The crowd here… we wouldn't exist without the English."

The singer also spoke about the group's mooted album of cover versions, revealing that fans may have a bit of a wait before it gets completed.

"The covers album… we're a little afraid we're not going to deliver that for a long time," he said. "We've been lazy with the covers album. The only thing we've done so far is we've done something with [San Diego band] Louis XIV. We did 'One Night In Bangkok' [from the musical 'Chess']."
