The Killers have announced their return by confirming their first comeback gig at the new Lollapalooza festival in Chile.

The band, who have been on a hiatus since early 2010, will make their return at the two day event which will be held on April 2-3 at O'Higgins Park in Santiago.

The Las Vegas four-piece join Kanye West, Jane's Addiction, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Flaming Lips for the event's overseas debut.

Lollapalooza is held in the US at Chicago's Grant Park every year by founder and Jane's Addiction singer Perry Farrell.
