Tommy Marth, touring saxophone player and frequent collaborator with The Killers, has died aged 33.

Marth was found dead at his home in Las Vegas on Monday (April 23). His death has now been confirmed as suicide by local coroners.

Marth played on The Killers' 2006 second album 'Sam's Town' and its follow-up, 2008's 'Day & Age'. He also toured with the band extensively and features in the live line-up on the group's 2009 DVD Live from the Royal Albert Hall.

The Killers have paid tribute to Marth, writing on Twitter: "Last night we lost our friend Thomas Marth. Our prayers are with his family. There’s a light missing in Las Vegas tonight. Travel well, Tommy."

Marth also performed regularly with Las Vegas outfit The Big Friendly Corporation, which also featured his brother and sister Ryan and Melissa. The Big Friendly Corporation's Timothy Styles also paid tribute to Marth.

He said: "There's been a death in the family. A very tragic one. Essentially what has happened is Ryan Marth and Melissa Marth of the Big Friendly, their middle sibling Tommy, passed away this morning at rather a young age. I'm not going to go into details. People who know him will hear the truth about it later on. But it's not natural causes."
