The Killers, PSY, Alicia Keys to play MTV European Music Awards ceremony

They will join Muse, No Doubt and Taylor Swift at the Frankfurt event on November 11

The Killers, 'Gangnam Style' sensation PSY and Alicia Keys are all set to play next month's MTV European Music Awards ceremony.

The acts will join the previously announced likes of Muse, No Doubt and Taylor Swift, who will all also be performing live at this year's event.

The ceremony takes place in Frankfurt on November 11 and will be hosted by supermodel Heidi Klum.

The awards will see The Killers battle it out with Green Day, Muse, Linkin Park and Coldplay in the Best Rock category. Meanwhile, Arctic Monkeys will face off with Lana Del Rey, Florence And The Machine, The Black Keys and Jack White for the Best Alternative prize.

Rihanna is the leading contender at this year's awards with a total of six nominations, Taylor Swift will compete for five prizes, while Justin Bieber and Katy Perry are both up for four. Meanwhile, three nominations apiece go to Lana Del Rey, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, fun. and Carly Rae Jepsen.

Jack White will also compete for the brand new Best Look award, where he faces competition from Rihanna, Swift, Minaj and A$AP Rocky.

Other nominees at the 19th annual awards bash include Skrillex, Drake, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Jay-Z and Kanye West, Arcade Fire and Kasabian.
