The Killers' Ronnie Vannucci has spoken to NME Radio about today's US Presidential Election, saying he thinks it's neck and neck between the two main candidates, Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.

The drummer and Big Talk frontman didn't reveal who he had plumped for, but said he had already cast his vote by post a few months previously from London. "I'm excited," he said. "I get excited every four years. Politics mean more to me as I get older, every election. It's something to look forward to."

Vannucci was speaking to NME Radio yesterday (November 5) before The Killers' show at Cardiff Motorpoint Arena. He talked about previously meeting President Obama when the band played a special show at the White House, saying: "Both he and his wife are really, really sweet people. Like genuinely sweet. It was a real pleasure to be asked to do something like that. Had a great time - barbecuing with the president? C'mon."

Of his side project, the classic rock leaning Big Talk, Vannucci said that he is constantly writing songs, but his "allegiance is to The Killers first". However, he explained that he has started to "stockpile a collection of butt-rock tunes that would probably work better for Big Talk”. Of a new Big Talk album he said: "If it makes sense I'll do it again."

He also revealed that the working title for The Killers' annual charity Christmas song is 'I Feel It In My Bones'. The band are today recording the track in London.

The Killers pick up their current UK tour at Sheffield Motorpoint Arena on November 8. They will play:

Sheffield Motorpoint Arena (November 8)
Liverpool Echo Arena (9)
Manchester Arena (13, 14)
London O2 Arena (16, 17)
Belfast Odyssey Arena (February 21 2013)
Dublin The O2 (22)
