Guitar Hero to return with tracks by The Killers, The War On Drugs and Skrillex

The Black Keys, Fall Out Boy, Ed Sheeran and Green Day will also feature on Guitar Hero Live's playlist

Computer game series Guitar Hero is set to return, featuring tracks by The Killers, The War on Drugs and Skrillex

The game was discontinued by manufacturers Activision in 2011 after launching in 2005, leading to five sequels and a large number of spin-offs, including Metallica, Van Halen and Aerosmith editions.

However, the return of the game has now been announced, with Guitar Hero Live boasting a redesigned guitar controller, reports The Verge. It will be released for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PS3, and Nintendo Wii U as well as number of mobile devices this autumn.

The playlist will include tracks by The War On Drugs, The Killers, The Black Keys, Fall Out Boy Ed Sheeran, The Lumineers, Green Day, The Rolling Stones, Pierce the Veil, My Chemical Romance and Gary Clark, Jr. Watch a trailer for the new game below.
