Kooks star blasts Lily Allen over cancelled dates

The Kooks singer Luke Pritchard has hit out at Lily Allen for cancelling the remainder of her US tour last month.

Pritchard believes the pint-sized star - and former schoolmate - is inexperienced and her road troubles were sparked by the fact she shot to fame before she had a chance to get used to touring.

As previously reported, Allen ditched the latter part of her US tour, complaining of exhaustion and homesickness.

“We were on the road for about two years and it’s tough, but it’s fun,” said Pritchard. “Lily only did about two gigs and, bang, she was in the Top 10 or something. I find it a bit strange that solo artists can pop out of nowhere without really having been on the road."

“People are different and Lily finds it hard being away from home," The Kooks singer told The Mirror, "but how hard is it playing your music and having people asking you about yourself? That’s what it’s all about.”
