The Kooks play acoustic charity gig
Jarvis Cocker to play Oxfam concert too
The band will play the 200-capacity gig in an unnamed Oxfam shop in east London as part of Oxjam. Plus, Jarvis Cocker will be doing a DJ set.
The former Pulp singer said: "I’ve been a regular to this Oxfam shop myself in the past, so I’ve decided to play a set using records I’ve bought at charity shops over the years.
"October used to mean the end of the festival season, but these shows mark the beginning of Oxjam: a month of music where every note played takes a step towards fighting poverty."
As part of the gigs Cocker has designed exclusive badges for the festival. Kaiser Chiefs, The Chemical Brothers, Hard-Fi and The Pigeon Detectives have also been making badges, which will only be available at Oxjam events.
Hot Chip will play an Oxjam gig on Wednesday (October 3) and Fatboy Slim performs on Thursday (4).
The full line-up is:
The Kooks, Jarvis Cocker (DJ set), Remi Nicole (October 1)
Jamelia, Killa Kela, Mattafix (2)
Hot Chip, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, Bobby Friction (DJ set) (3)
Fatboy Slim, Emmanuel Jal (4)
