After several absences Max Rafferty finally leaves group

The Kooks bassist Max Rafferty has left the band permanently, his bandmates have announced.

Rafferty, who has previously had several spells out of the band due to illness, has decided to call it a day for good.

According to the band’s statement: “Max Rafferty has parted company with The Kooks - the band will be continuing with the forthcoming shows. Dan Logan, bassist with local Brighton band Cat The Dog, will be filling in for the short-term.”

The Kooks release second album 'Konk' on April 14.

They then play the following dates:

Manchester Apollo (April 22)
Swindon Oasis (23)
Newport Centre (24)
Hull Arena (25)
Birmingham Carling Academy (27)
Sheffield Carling Academy (28)
Edinburgh Corn Exchange (29)
London Brixton Academy (May 1,2)
Plymouth Pavilions (3)

This is not right! The Kooks are the best I've heard this last couple of years, and now they're incomplete.
Then what?, Luke singing with Avril Lavigne?, Paul leaves to find out the meaning of life?
