Rock legend plays classic 'Victoria' in Chelmsford

Kooks joined onstage by Kinks' Ray Davies at V Festival

The Kooks were joined onstage by The Kinks' frontman Ray Davies at V Festival in Chelmsford this evening (August 16).

The singer and guitarist joined the band halfway through their set for a rendition of his former band's 1969 track 'Victoria'.

Davies
played rhythm guitar and alternated verses with The Kooks' Luke Pritchard in the speeded-up version of the track.

The Kooks recorded this year's 'Konk' album at Davies' London studio of the same name.

The band's set consisted of a selection of songs from their two albums, 2006's 'Inside In/Inside Out' and this year's 'Konk', as they played the Main Stage at the festival.

Along with 'Always Where I Need To Be', the best receptions from the packed crowd were reserved for singles 'Naïve', 'Ooh La' and 'She Moves In Her Own Way'.

The Kooks played:

'Always Where I Need To Be'
'Eddie's Gun'
'Ooh La'
'Sway'
'Time Awaits'
'She Moves In Her Own Way'
'Mr Maker'
'Victoria'
'Do You Wanna'
'Naïve'
'Shine On'
'See The Sun'
'You Don't Love Me'
'Stormy Weather'
'Sofa Song'
