The Kooks added to Africa Exprez' Paris line-up

The Kooks haved joined the line up for for Africa Exprez's forthcoming collaborative gig, which takes place in Paris on August 5.

Tony Allen, Shlomo, Sway, Bassekou Kouyate, Theophilius London and Vieux Farka Toure have also joined the bill.

The acts join the likes of Blur's Damon Albarn, Patrick Wolf, Amadou & Mariam, The Magic Numbers, Super Furry Animals' Gruff Rhys, Guto Pryce, Reverend And The Makers, Rachid Taha, Jamie T and Bashy at the performance, which sees the collective headline the French capital's Festival FNAC Indétendances 2009.

Other new acts on the bill include Barclaycard Music Prize nominee Speech Debelle, Ms Dynamite and Roots Manuva.

The news comes as a 17-track compilation, 'Africa Express Presents…', is released, featuring tracks by some of Africa's most respected artists chosen by the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Massive Attack and Elvis Costello.

The release is available now on CD and DVD exclusively through Puma and Fnac stores, and as a download through Fnac.com and AWAL/iTunes.
