Reclusive indie legends set for French festival in August

The La's have announced that their first festival appearance in six years will take place in France later in the summer.

The reclusive Liverpudlians, who last performed at V Festival at Oasis's request in 2005, have been announced as part of the line-up for this year's Rock En Seine festival near Paris.

The La's frontman Lee Mavers made his first live appearance in over two years earlier this month (June 19) – pictured above – playing Manchester's Deaf Institute under the name Lee Rude & The Velcro Underpants.



Rock En Seine festival is set to be headlined by Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters and Archive, with My Chemical Romance, The Vaccines, Death From Above 1979, Anna Calvi, Tinie Tempah, Biffy Clyro and Lykke Li among the other acts booked to play.
