Libertines ended their three-night run at LONDON's BRIXTON ACADEMY last night (March 7) in confusion, as guitarist PETE DOHERTY stormed offstage halfway through the gig.

Doherty dramatically smashed his guitar on the floor and exited along with his bandmates. The rest of the band returned within minutes - playing as a three-piece with bassist John Hassall on backing vocals. Pete rejoined the band a couple of songs later, having sliced his chest for the last chorus of 'Good Old Days'.

Apologising to the crowd, Doherty said: "Sorry about that. I had a bit of a strop."

Despite the absence of an encore, Libertines treated fans to a triumphant set including 'Up The Bracket' favourites 'Time For Heroes', 'I Get Along' and 'Horrorshow', as well as potential single 'Last Post On The Bugle' and established newies 'The Saga' and 'Can't Stand Me'.

The band played three sold-out nights at the venue last weekend, kicking off on Friday (March 5).

As previously reported on NME.COM, Doherty and co-frontman Carl Barat are to feature on the single 'For Lovers' on April 12 with their friend Wolfman.

The Wolfman featuring Peter Doherty release will be put out through on Rough Trade, with 'Back From The Dead' featuring as the B-side.

Doherty sings lead vocal on the A-side, while Barat adds vocals and guitar to the B-side.
